【摘要】:TheserequirementscovertoxicandcombustiblegasandvapordetectorsandsensorsintendedtobeportableoremployedinindoororoutdoorlocationsinaccordancewiththeNationalElectricalCode,NFPA70.Agasdetectorand/orsensorand/orvapordetector,ascoveredbytheserequirements,consistsofanassemblyofelectricalcomponentscoupledwithasensingmeansinsideachamber,orbyseparatecomponentstodetecttoxicand/orcombustiblegasesorvapors.Thedetectorincludesprovisionfortheconnectiontoasourceofpowerandsignalingcircuits.Theserequirementscoverthefollowingtypesofdetectors:a)Detectorsintendedformonitoringtheenvironmentanddetectorsintendedforopenareaprotectionandforconnectiontoacompatiblepowersupplyorcontrolunitforoperationaspartofgasdetectionoremergencysignalingsystems;b)Detectorsintendedsolelyforcontrolofventilationorshutoffdevicessuchasfansorcontrolvalves;c)Detectorsintendedforboththeaboveapplications;d)Sensorsandsensingcircuitsintendedforusewithoringasdetectors,alarmsorgasdetectioncircuitswithinfuelcellsystems;e)Portablegasdetectors;f)Multi-gasgasdetectors;g)Multi-gassensorsandh)Equipmentintendedforuseinhazardouslocations.Note,theequipmentmustcomplywiththeapplicablehazardouslocationrequirementspriortoevaluationtoUL2075.1.3Theserequirementsalsocoverallremoteaccessoriesthatareintendedtobeconnectedtoagasorvapordetectorand/orsensor.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotcoverthefollowing:a)ControlunitstowhichthedetectorsareintendedtobeconnectedthatarecoveredbytheStandardforControlUnitsforFire-ProtectiveSignalingSystems,UL864;b)ControlunitstowhichthedetectorsareintendedtobeconnectedthatarecoveredbytheStandardforGeneralPurposeSignalingDevicesandSystems,UL2017;c)Self-containedsingleandmultiplestationcarbonmonoxidealarmsorresidentialcombustiblegasdetectors,notintendedforconnectiontoasystemcontrolunit,thatarecoveredbytheStandardforSingleandMultipleStationCarbonMonoxideAlarms,UL2034orResidentialGasDetectors,UL1484.1.5Usersoftheserequirementswilladditionallyneedtoensurethatinfluencingfactorsnotaddressedinthisstandardfortheendproductinstallation,suchasmechanicalmovement,fieldplacementofconductivematerial,andproductdamage,willnotaffectthesystemforinsulationcoordinationorperformanceoperation.Examplesarethedeformationoftheenclosure,movementofthefittingsforconduitorarmoredcable,ortheimproperinstallationoffieldwiring.
