【摘要】:Extensionalviscosityisameasureoftheresistanceofaliquidtostretchingforces,suchasthoseoccurringduringthedisruptionofliquidfilmsandtheformationofspraysusedinagricultureandotherpurposesincludingpaintingoperationsormetalworking.ThismethodformeasurementofaScreenFactor,givesarelativevalueforextensionalviscosity,whichmaybeused:Tocomparethepotentialfordriftcontrolofdifferentpolymers.Tocomparetherelativeextensionalviscositycomponentofdifferentspraytankmixtures.Todeterminetheextentofbreakdownofpolymersolutionsusedasdriftcontroladditivesduringtherecirculationofthesolutionsthroughpumpsandscreens.TouseasaparameterintheSprayDriftTaskForceModelsfordropletsizeprediction.Itshouldalsobenotedthatmanydriftcontrolpolymersareirreversiblydestroyedduringtherecirculationofspraymixesbypumpingwithhighshearpumpssuchasgearorcentrifugalpumps.Itisadvisabletosubjectthetestmixturetosimilarpumpingregimestosimulatepracticalconditionsbeforecarryingouttheextensionalviscositytest.Measurementsofextensionalviscosityaretheonlypresentlyknownmethodofdeterminingtheextentofthisbreakdownpropertiesofdilutepolymersolutions.Thismethodisintendedtoproducearelativevalueforextensionalviscosity.Thepurposeofthemethodistocomparetheextensionalviscosityproducedbydifferentpolymertypesorconcentrationsofpolymerinspraytankmixes.1.1ThistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftherelativeextensionalviscosityorScreenFactor(SF)ofdiluteagriculturalspraymixes.1.2Thetestcanbeusedfortankmixescontainingdissolved,emulsifiedordispersedmaterials,ormixtures.1.3Resultsmaybeaffectedbythequalityofthewaterused.Make-upwaterqualityshouldthereforebespecifiedinthepresentationofresults.1.4Propersafetyandhygieneprecautionsmustbetakenwhenworkingwithpesticideformulationstopreventskinoreyecontact,vaporinhalation,andenvironmentalcontamination.Readandfollowallhandlinginstructionsforthespecificformulationandconductthetestinaccordancewithgoodlaboratorypractice.Note18212;Referencestothedevelopmentofextensionalviscosityfromdissolvedpolymers,extensionalviscosityeffectsonthedropletsizedistributionofsprays,andmeasurementsofscreenfactoronrecirculatedspraymixescontainingpolymersareavailable.,1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
